A few days ago, I read this great post by Grant Nwakanwa.
As I read it, I realized that I also learned some things far too late.
So I made a little list:
We think we have time but we don’t.
Fear left unchecked is like a growing disease.
Fight it: it will reduce its field of action.
Don’t fight it: it won’t stop until it’s conquered you.The body ages much faster than expected if we don’t take care of it.
We have more strength than we think.
Human beings are resilient (when they need to be).
Some lessons can only be learned through pain.
Comfort is dangerous.
You can only have what you want.
We can do great things, if we think we are capable of doing them.
Everything can change overnight.
Life is a cycle of ups and downs. Of blessings and difficulties.
You can’t help those who don’t want to be helped.
It takes years of work to achieve overnight success.
If you hate the way to the top of the mountain, you’ll hate the view at the top too.
It’s by forcing yourself to do the hard things that you make your life easy.
We should say I love you, as often as possible, while we still can.
Promises only bind those who believe them.
For some, “Till death do us part” is only “Till I don’t love you anymore”.
Your turn, what did you learn too late in life?
I learned that love, even if you’ve never seen it before, is worth the risk.
I've learnt that memories of great or hurtful events are all that remains after so many years. So make each moment count and make each memory deliberately remarkable.
I've learnt that things don't get better with time, but with intentionality.
I've learnt that all these things I say that I've learnt haven't really been etched on my mind. And though I've really learnt them, I could still act like I haven't learnt them, some of the time. So, forgiveness, flexibility, and progress all the way.
