Hmm You might want to check out What Happened to you by Oprah - it’s one of the most interesting book about childhood trauma - but they use science and psychology methods to explain about those traumas - one of my most interesting read this year.
Secondly - the story that stays with me the most is the one where the student forgets that she has had her memories erased and falls back in love with her professors again. It means that our mind forgets but our heart never does, that’s how you develop an instant connection w certain people - because you’ve loved them before - in another lifetime.
For the second part, although I believe there are strange phenomena that cannot be explained, I don't think the soulmate concept is true.
That we are supposed to find beings we would have known before. Or that there's a grand scheme to find the unique person.
I prefer to think that we choose the one we want to be with. For this life and the next. That gives us much more power than a destiny that's already been written.
The idea of having multiple soulmates kind of kills the basic soulmate concept. If you have multiple soulmates, then none of them are really your soulmate. And worse, if one soulmate doesn't suit us, then at worst, we have others.
Not to argue, (although it sounds like it), I'm just bouncing off the idea.
I wish with all my heart that the soulmate concept existed. But unfortunately, it just seems like a concept that generates suffering and deception.
Haha there are only two ways of living this life. One is to think that nobody is special, and two is to think that everybody is special.
You tend to tie down the soulmate concept into conditions - but soulmate (to me) doesn’t even have to be a person, there is a piece of your soul in everyone we meet and connect. Soulmate is also your dog and cat too :)
Excellent summary - I might check this one out. It reminds me of a episode of Dark Mirror. Awareness is so key. Sometimes we forget, when we react to things we are shaking up as the child version of ourselves.

I ddnt say you had to follow your destiny ;)
I believe we have more than one soulmate, and we have the ability to choose which path we’d like to travel - which soul we’d like to connect with.
We always have the choice.

And no, I dont think there is only one person for each of us - I dont believe in the right person.
I believe each person we meet is the right person at that timeline of our life.

Thank you.
I understand your point of view better.
Thank you for sharing your point of view too :)
Enjoyed reading about this clearly devastating problem some people have. The movie sounds like a good one, making a person think of how to overcome.
