You need a vision board
And here's why
Generally, I don't like to recycle my threads or blogpost in my newsletter.
I like to give you original content since you are the audience I care about most.
You made the effort to put your email on my page and I always want to give you the best.
But today, I'm going to break my rule because this little tip is way too important for me not to share it with you.
But before I dive into why a vision board is important in achieving your goals.
I wanted to thank a person who donated money to this substack.
My monetization is not open, it will be at the end of March or April.
But it's really nice of him. And to thank you, I will give you a founder status (150$) because you are the first person to support this substack.
Thank you.
Back to business.
There are those who think that positive affirmations and visualization do not work. And then there's me who saw my life change completely when I started doing these habits regularly.
A few years ago, I was in a very dark place. Not cool.
It took me a long time to see the sunlight again but I was able to reach heights I thought I was not capable of.
I fixed my life, lost weight, made more money...
And in the process, I used affirmations and visualization often.
It was a part of my core routine.
It's true that they are no substitute for hard work and discipline, but they have been invaluable allies at times when I seemed lost, lost on the path, or tired of trying so hard that it didn't work.
Today, I'm going to share with you the ultimate tool for manifesting your dreams into reality: the vision board.
And what I think is the right process to do it.
What's a vision board ?
It's an alternative version of your goals. It is often said that you have to write down your goals in order to achieve them. The vision board is the materialization of your goals into visual representations.
"Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible." (But we will make them... visualizable!)
By having this representation in front of your eyes, you have a manifestation of your dreams in a tangible, visual element.
It is no longer words on a notebook, it is now a universe that we can imagine.
Sensations that we can feel.
Emotions that we can live by looking at it.
To make it simple: it's an improved way to have your list of goals in front of your eyes.
How to make it effective?
There are vision board with many things written on it.
I'm more of a fan of less is more.
Take your most important goals.
(I use 10 of them)
And look for 10 pictures that represent them perfectly.
Pay attention to the symbols you are going to use.
Respect your goals.
Take symbols that make you proud.
Every time you look at your vision board, it should inspire you.
Make your collage.
Add your quote.
Tada.
Your vision board is ready.
The reason why less goal is better is because it will allow you to focus on the essentials.
Every day you will have the same thing in front of you and your energy will be channeled towards the same achievement.
How to do it?
You can buy a large piece of paper.
And make your collage.
Or simply open canvas.
There are very nice templates, you just have to make your collage.
Then you print it.
And if it's digital, you put it as a wallpaper.
Stick it in a visible place.
On the fridge is one of the best places.
We often visit it several times a day.
And our eyes are inevitably in front of this door.
It's up to you where you want to put it.
On how long?
I like to work over a year.
It allows you to see the progress.
To take stock of the visions that have been realized and those that are still to be done.
It's also a way to remind ourselves throughout the year of what we still have to do.
In the process of achieving our dreams, it is easy to get lost.
Detours are often proposed to us.
Distractions.
But having your vision board in front of you every day reminds you why you get up and gets you back on track.
Don't share it
I'm one of those people who believes that goals should not be shared.
It's a waste of energy that spreads to people who are not necessarily benevolent.
Your vision board is something intimate.
Of course we want to share our vision.
But some people don't want to do us any good.
And will do anything to sabotage it.
Keep your vision board to yourself and to those closest to you.
Would you have someone else read your diary?
This mail is at its end.
If it has motivated you to make a vision board.
Leave me a little comment.
I can only strongly encourage you to do so.
Seeing your goals with strong symbolism every day is one way to never forget them.
Every morning I look at this vision board.
And I smile.
It reminds me why I do this.
If you want to read other things, i wrote 1 post / day on medium this week.
There’s some really cool piece.
You can find them there.
See you monday.
