Will AI replace you?
And why you should care.
Being a little over thirty years old, you have the chance to have seen industries disappear entirely.
When i was a kid, i used to go to a video store on Saturday night. It was the highlight of the week.
The video store was packed and I never thought that these video stores would have disappeared entirely a few years later.
Yet, here we are : video store are relics of the past.
Now, many jobs are threatened by AI.
We have two ways to deal with this situation:
Stick your head in the sand, don't feel the danger. And like the video store managers who didn't see the wave coming, risk bankruptcy
Probe the danger, evaluate if our skills are resistant enough and project ourselves in the future
And to illustrate my point, I wanted to tell you about Greg Rutkowski.
He is an artist with a unique style.
His graphic style is incredible.
His universe is full of details from his brilliant mind.
And before the advent of AI, we saw few images with his style on the internet.
Today, the web is flooded with his creations generated by an artificial intelligence. He is one of the most popular artists on Stable Diffusion.
And Rutkowski is very worried.
A market has opened up with images generated from his original work.
And this market is flooded with his work, the value of his portfolio is diminished as cheap copies pour in.
He spent years creating his style and it took him a few months for the essence of his style to be replicated by AIs.
And if you still doubt the power of these tools.
Some images are starting to win awards.
Writers are using AIs to generate complete texts ...
Artists will be able to use an AI trained on their style to generate a quantity of work that they could never have done in a lifetime.
The new world is already here.
