Time - Issue 2
We fight for money, fame, success, and we all trade the most important value in order to acquire what we seek: Time.
The problem is that not everyone, including me, values their time properly.
We are constantly exchanging our time, day after day, for activities that don't bring us anything, that don't move us forward, that make us stagnate and sometimes worse, that make us go backwards.
Modern life means that we have an enormous amount of material needs that must be satisfied, otherwise we "feel unhappy". So we are trapped in a never-ending spiral where we exchange our time: our most precious value by far for other things in exchanges that are often... losing.
Many people ask me: what is the secret to success?
First thing: understand that time IS your most important resource.
It is limited, no one knows how much is left, and every day is a step closer to death.
Every day wasted cannot be made up.
Every day wasted is behind you.
No, you don't have time: that's not true.
The first step in moving toward a better life is to understand the importance of time.
Once this is ingrained in your brain and you are committed to not wasting your precious time.
Take a pen and paper and write down your entire schedule for the week.
Once you have the activities you do listed, two columns.
Does this activity bring me closer to my goals?
Does this activity take me away from my goals?
And ask yourself another question in the last column
What activity that I am not doing could bring me closer to my goals?
You need to be honest with yourself.
Once you've made your list, you'll need to modify your schedule, maximize the activities in column 1, eliminate the activities in column 2, and add the activities in column 3.
Everyone has their own vices, but the key to success is to master them.
Aim high, make big lists.
Stick to your new program and in 6 months you will be nowhere near where you are today.
No one can help you... except yourself.
