Google was born in a dream
And this is why you should write down yours
Larry Page had the idea of Google ... during a dream. He said: "When a really great dream shows up, grab it!"
Dreams are powerful tools and here are 5 reasons why you should capture them in a journal.
Dreams are our subconscious talking to us.
They are a part of our identity.
Keeping a dream journal can help us see how we're doing, but also help us solve certain problems.
Writing down your dreams is taking care of that part of you that is trying to tell you something.
1) 95 to 99% of people forget their dreams as soon as they wake up.
You need to have a pen and paper near your bed.
Once our brains are switched on,the dream dissipates and it's impossible to get our hands on our subconscious.
Dreams are the most vivid as soon as we wake up.
2) Increase your creativity.
You don't have to write down your dreams.
You can also draw them, representing the shapes the people you have visited.
These are your dreams, your secret gardens and it's a journal you'll love to lose yourself in.
3) Capture feelings.
Dreams escape quickly. As soon as you wake up, it can happen that the feeling you have or the idea you had... flies away forever.
Writing them down as soon as you wake up allows you to capture them for the rest of your life.
So you can feel them again.
I had this dream where i falled in love with a girl i never met.
I never felt so much love in my dream, it was powerful and it' was a really weird experience.
4) See if there are patterns.
By writing down your dreams, you will be able to see some similarities between your different dreams.
Two dreams that seemed different may reveal a connection.
Maybe you can make sense of what your subconscious is trying to communicate to you.
5) Have inspiration
Frankenstein was created from a dream.
Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.
The idea for Twilight came to the author in a dream from a conversation of a vampire and a human talking about why love would be impossible between them.
The periodic table of elements came from a dream.
”I saw in a dream, a table, where all the elements fell into place as required. Awakening, I immediately wrote it down on a piece of paper.”
Science, art, music ... dreams are the source of some of the greatest creations the earth has known.
Dreams are an inexhaustible source of hidden knowledge.
I regret that I did not write down all my dreams.
I remember once, having dreamed a story to write, I found the idea incredible and ... impossible to remember any part of it today.
Since this day, every interesting idea is noted down.
You never know when the idea of your life may be born.
