I had a similar wake up call the 2nd week of Nov. Its a step in the right direction to recognize unhealthy patterns and take initiative to change them. An object in motion state in motion. Cheers to getting some momentum!

I’m truly happy I found you in here Viam. Your newsletters are so relatable, and this one got me thinking on my own habits that do need to change. Accountability and a month of changing habits is a good start

This. I need to get back to the gym. I have every reason not to, but I owe it to myself.

This is really motivational. I find your newsletter so relatable and for me it is filled with realistic emotions and positivity as well. Makes me want to pin point and work out on the things which needs to be changed. Thank you!

Getting down a healthy pattern of sleep, eating, and exercise takes a doctorate in time management. I've been there as well. Thanks for sharing this. And I hope you find relief.

I can relate to your newsletter! We all fall into a funk and for me finding what is meaningful helps me to get back on track!

What if ... You can say it two ways 1. What if we won!

2. what if we lost!

I have the habit of asking the second too much ... I am making myself stop! You win with positivity, negative trips you up...

It's a subject I've already thought about for a long time. How we only have one choice, and that choice is optimism.

We have every reason to think only of victory. Because if we don't, we can fall prey to negative self-fulfilling prophecies.

I struggle with that too. I see too many things in black. I need to work on myself.

You: Poor sleep. I go to bed at 2 a.m. when it’s not later. It ruins my mornings, my days, my life. All day long, I lack energy. I go through my days like a snail trying to cross a street.

Me: I work 7p-7a, so my diurnal cycle is all screwed up. I work either 5 on or 4 on, and sleep during the day, when everyone else is awake. I've gotten to where I can't sleep very well.

you: Poor nutrition. I take the easy way out. One day, I eat healthy. The other, not so much. Calorie bombs. Little green. Lots of fat. Fast food has become my second home. How can I expect to be healthy and in good spirits on such a poor diet?

Me: my meals are all messed up. I eat breakfast when others are eating dinner, eat lunch at 2am, then eat dinner when people are eating breakfast. Because my wife is busy, there are days when I only eat one meal a day. Not good, I know.

you: An obvious lack of exercise. I used to do hundreds of push-ups a day not so long ago. My body is in an advanced state of lethargy. My abs, gone. I easily have a few extra pounds to lose.

Me: I work 12 hours, sleep 8 to 8 1/2. there are times, more often lately, when I don't feel like exercising. Every three days, I might walk a mile. I know I need to exercise, I just feel blah.

I hope you get to feeling better. Let us know how it goes.

Here i am complaining when your life seems way harder Joseph. You are a brave men. We have some of the same issue, just that they present themselves differently. I hope you can improve on what's bothering you in December. I started working on myself a few days ago. I hope to have very good news in a week.

A much needed post! I am a lover of early morning times, exercise lover and healthy eater. Have been off the track for a few days now, and I very much wanted to be on track.

This post of yours gives me a partner in progress kind of feeling! We are in together in this and we will shine together in this last month of this year!

And yes i just love your honesty and the flow of words and thoughts of your posts!

Your posts are something that I look forward to as a budding writer myself!

Thank you for your honest and thoughtful works! Keep inspiring us 🙂

I was reminded today that stories that are all positive or all negative are not very interesting stories. We have to have an equal measure of both. That's what makes it relatable, that's what we as readers connect with. Thank you for always sharing your struggles and your successes. 🎉 Wishing you the best. December. ever.

I stopped watching the news recently. I can't take the suffering anymore. It's a very selfish decision, but the only way I've found to get on with my life.

As soon as I watch the news, I'm paralyzed and I can't produce anything. My mood for the day is destroyed. And it's hard to pick up a pen and write when so many people are suffering and there's nothing you can do about it.

Totally agree. 🤗 That is my goal for December is to reduce the amount of news I digest. I've improved. I used to watch Good morning America (2 hrs!) and always the 6:30 news but not anymore. I don't even miss it. If I'm really curious about what happened, I can look for the headlines pretty quickly or just ask my husband 😉 I don't think you're being selfish at all. You are protecting your mindset to seize the day. 🎉
